In Reply To Those H2O temps that you refer to, I assume they are AFTER posted by Scotts94z32 on June 07, 2006 at 04:41 PM

Message side of the system: it is the dump pipe from the engine into the radiator. The lower hose is the cooled side of the system.

It was nice conversating with you at the auto-x and yes, the temperature measurements of the engine at the back were a bit suprising. I think it would be best to use the hottest part of the engine as your actual temperature; much like you would use the leaner bank of the engine to tune with. I dont really have a good answer for your question though. It almost seems to warrant itself to changing the theory though as the information you have obtained didn't create the reality - it has always been there and we have just become aware of it. I dont know what all everyone has done with their cars in terms of all-out racecar and their cooling systems but I doubt they vary much from OE. Those engines are likely enduring the same results you are seeing, but not totally definitive given it being just a single case where we have obtained a measurement. I think I will see about putting a thermocouple into the metal heater core pipe coming out of the passenger head and see what the temps are back there. Where exactly is your probe installed?
